3BGP Louisiana Catch Wrestling Grand Prix

3BGP Louisiana Catch Wrestling Grand Prix

REGULATION - 6 MINUTES

  • No points, advantages, or judges’ decisions.
  • One submission wins immediately.
  • Two awarded falls win the match.
  • Takedowns do not score during regulation.

PINFALLS

  • Both shoulder blades must be controlled against the mat for 3 continuous seconds.
  • Control must be established and maintained. Rolling scrambles do not count.
  • Guard and back control do not automatically prevent a pin.
  • Simultaneous pins do not count for either wrestler.
  • Wrestlers restart standing after an awarded fall.

SUBMISSION PRIORITY

  • Referees may count pins while submissions are being applied.
  • A wrestler defending an active submission must escape before a match-ending second fall can be awarded.
  • If the submission succeeds before escape, the submitting wrestler wins.
  • If regulation expires without a completed submission, any completed fall counts.
  • Submissions must be applied with gradual, controlled pressure.
  • A submission victory occurs by tap, verbal submission, or referee stoppage.

SUDDEN DEATH

  • Begins standing if regulation ends without a winner.
  • First successful submission or takedown wins.
  • Pins do not score in sudden death.
  • A takedown requires 2 continuous seconds of established top control.
  • The wrestler establishing control does not need to initiate the takedown.
  • Counters, reversals, and successful sprawls qualify.
  • A wrestler in turtle can concede a takedown when they have 4 weight-bearing points of contact with the mat and are controlled for 2 continuous seconds.
  • During a sprawl against a leg attack, the takedown count begins when the attacking wrestler’s hands disconnect from the opponent’s leg and top control is established.
  • If control is broken before 2 seconds, no takedown is awarded.
  • Submissions take priority over takedown victories.
  • The initial sudden-death period is 3 minutes. If no winner is determined, wrestling continues until a submission or qualifying takedown occurs.

PROHIBITED ACTIONS

  • Grabbing individual fingers or toes.
  • Inserting digits into orifices.
  • Spiking standing opponents onto their head or neck.
  • Applying submissions with sudden, uncontrolled force.

Referees may stop matches to protect competitors.
